Question Kenmore refrigerator buzzing
Model Number: 253.51699103   Brand: Kenmore   Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi, my refrigerator has developed a buzzing noise, I think it is the defrost timer? but not really sure. Freezer side cools to zero, frig side to 30 or so, but then this buzzing noise starts, the temp goes up in the freezer. I left it unplugged for about 3-4 hrs. then plugged it back in the temp came right down then the buzzing noise started again. It sounded like it was coming from around the compressor. Thank you in advance for any help, Geoff

Hi,

It maybe the start relay on the compressor that you are hearing.
If so the start relay should be replaced.

Thank you, I have just put in a new start relay, I hope the problem is solved. Thanks again for the help Appliance Junk!
