Model Number: International Harvester Brand: -brand- Age: More than 10 years
I have a universal thermostat that I would like to replace in my OLD freezer. I wanted to have directions. The thermostat came with none. I wanted to know especially about the three wires that are used to connect the thermostat. Since this is such an old freezer (1953, Model L-20), I cannot find out how to get information about it. Thank you for any insight that you can supply.

The freezer has three wires, white, black and blue. The thermostat has two places to hook the wires. I think the old one had the blue and black on one and the white on the other. The old thermostat had two places too.

Thanks to you, the vintage 1953 freezer is now at 0 degrees and doing well! The thermostat installation went well. We had to change some brittle wire that was cracking. That caused us to lose the light in the lid but a flashlight will work for the next 55 years! She's ready to keep that corn frozen as soon as the garden does its work. You were great. Thanks.
