Attempting to repair freezer that won't freeze. Findings:
Defrost timer was replaced with wrong timer (Plug pin seq. different) don't know if previous person changed wiring in plug, my guess is that he didn't. Freezer didn't work after his repair. Continuity test on timer show bad. Evap. coil freezes up at the cap tube to the defrost T-stat. My old A/C day I seem to recall that a freeze at the expansion valve or cap tube was generally an indication of a restriction or low charge. I see no indication of leakage any where. I hope I'm just on a witch hunt and the refrigerant system is OK. I ordered a new timer the original timers test was ? All imput appreciated! |

Hi Earl,
Sounds like there is a restriction or a low charge. In order to find out exactly you have to check the pressure in the system on both sides. Gene.
