I had to shut off my ice maker due to a frozen line. Now it does not work. I hear sounds but it doesn't appear to be getting water to ice maker? I switched the two solenoid wires as suggested n another post and nothing? The water supply is working normally. Not sure how to tell if the valve is bad. Should I hear water when I switch the two wires and press the water lever on front?

When you switched the wires on the solenoid, did you test to see if your getting water @ the water dispenser on door? if so, then the solenoid is not bad, and you have other problems.

Could be the ice maker itself, or the water tube feeding the ice maker could be froze up. post back on the water

Sorry my original post was confusing. Water line works until I swap out the wires then it does not. Does this indicate that I need the valve replaced? Thanks Dave

Dave, I had the same thing happen, and all you have to do is unscrew the water line from your icemaker near the top of the frige, and then pull that little rubber disc off of the plastic tube, then pull upwards and remove that white plastic funnel..
what happened is the water is freezing in the funnel and blocking the water from going into your ice trays..so when you pull out the funnel, you'll see it is blocked with a little plug of ice...just run it under warm water and then replace it...BUT,
now we have to figure out why the freezer is running so cold to make this happen to the water coming into our freezer..
that's why I'm on here to begin with..
I read that it seems like a defrost thermostat might need to be replaced?

Not sure..but I'm gonna post a question now and hoe that one of the techs can answer my question..
