We bought this refrigerator new in late 2005, sort of surprised it stopped working. After reading through the posts it sounds like it is a bad relay or starter, but I don't know how to tell which it is.

Symptoms were the fan coming on and clicking spaced apart 5-10 seconds, then the realization that our refrigerator section was warm and the freezer started to go shortly thereafter (I think, the noticeable part was the refrigerator and we cleared the freezer before things thawed). Milk was definitely curled.

So, how to I determine the problem? I read lots about a "kit" but they don't seem to make one for my particular model. Please help!!! :)

Is the compressor running?
What is the condition of the evaporator coils re: iced up, no frost or just frost in one area?
Try running the diagnostics.

Not sure what "kit" you are referring to.

Turns out the freezer is still working (had ice in there this morning). I checked the vents between the bottom freezer and fridge and nothing was blocking (it's completely empty now in both areas). Leads me to believe it's something other than the fan, thoughts?

I cannot say as your problem seems to be intermittent in order to troubleshoot it you have to catch it when it is not cooling correctly otherwise it is just a guess.

One possibility is that you have a defrost problem but this only applies if you had the unit turned off long enough for the evaporator coils to manually defrost.
