Does anyone know how to troubleshoot an Artic Air Freezer. If not, could you refer me to another site? Thanks

Thank you for responding. I have an Artic Air freezer model f22cw12. It has one year of use on it after purchase. It was stored for two years. It started up just fine, gets super cold, shuts off every twelve hours for defrost, comes back on, but runs non stop except for the defrost cycle. Also the freezer fan does not run. The compressor fan runs non stop with the compressor. The door seal is tight, the room is very cool. I run it all night and turn it off in the daytime. It stays below zero all day when off. Thanks for any help.

Often when refrigerators or freezers get stored for long periods of time the fan will freeze up from rust. Sometimes you can turn the fan a little by hand and it will go back to work. If it is stuck to bad to free it up or it gets stuck again replace it.
If you get the fan back running it will most likely work normal. Hope this helps! Refrigerator repair guide |

Thanks for your help. The freezer fan motor did start running after moving the blade as you suggested. It was noisey so I cleaned it and oiled it. It works great now. The defrost cycle shuts down and comes back properly, but the compressor still runs all of the time. The thermometer reads down to 40 below. Thanks again for any advice.

Thank you so much for your help! Yes, when you turn the cold control off, the system shuts off except for the light. Sorry I'm not sure what you mean by the bulb being in the right place. Since I posted last, there has been a change. Now it is cycling. 10 minutes on and 4 minutes off. This is like clockwork. Is this the normal cycle? Thanks so much.

What I meant by the bulb is the small tube that comes off the cold control but now that it is cycling I wouldn’t worry about that.
How long it runs depends on a lot of factors but as long as it holds good temperature it is ok. The temperature should be from about –10 degrees to maybe 5 degrees or so. Frost Free Freezer Repair Guide |
