Model Number: 106.71192101 Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years
I have a 2002 Kenmore fridge and the freezer works fine, but fridge not cooling. Heard the condensor motor rattling some, and the yesterday fridge quit cooling. Does the fridge get it's cool air from the freezer, and if so is it the condensor motor that blows it down through the vent tube that comes into the top of the fridge in the back. I have read several of the other posts, but I haven't seen this problem there. Any suggestions?

I believe the following is your wiring diagram
http://www.servicematters.com/docs/w...%202225759.pdf Heard the condensor motor rattling some, and the yesterday fridge quit cooling. Not sure we are using the correct terminology. The condenser fan is the one under the unit cooling the compressor and condenser coils. The evaporator fan is the one in the freezer pulling air through the evaporator coils. Does the fridge get it's cool air from the freezer, and if so is it the condensor motor that blows it down through the vent tube that comes into the top of the fridge in the back. Yes but it is the evaporator fan which does this. There is usually some type of damper between the freezer and fresh food sections, check that it is open. Also check your evaporator coils: If heavily iced/frosted over you may have a defrost problem. If only frosted in one area you may have a low freon problem. If frosted over even and light then it is probably just the fan.
