I have a Whirlpool fridge #ED20TKXDw02 that when it is plugged in the compressor will run for about 5 seconds or less and then the overload kicks it off. I measured the current draw and it spikes at 11.0 amps and then starts to drop but the overload kicks off. Is it advisable to jumper the overload and run the compressor a few more seconds to see if the current drops to normal? I would like to determine if the overload is good before I point to a bad compressor. Can anyone shead some light on this?
Thanks,
Bob
