Trying to figure out if I should renew my GE service contract. They want about 125.00/yr. I bought it when I first bought the fridge..it was a bargin then at about 100.00 for 3 years! Have not had any major problems (just a couple minor things) and have been happy with the service so far. I consider myself fairly handy and don't mind fixing things, but one time when the service guy came out I saw him hook up his laptop to the control board for diagnostics. Now obviously don't have the software and hardware for this, and don't really want it, so can I still troubleshoot most problems and able to repair them? Are there anythings that I should be looking out for that maybe I can get fixed under warranty? My warranty expires in Jan/2010. Thanks guys!

This fridg. is way too complicated for a person without tech training to fix. I would get the warranty and also add a 100 joule surge protector on the outlet
