I have water accumulating under the vegetable crisper drawers.

This is most likely a clogged drain line or cup. Can anyone tell me if this will need a technician to repair or can I fix it? I understand some refridgerator/freezers have some enclosed plumbing. But then it may be a simple clean/repair job.

Any guides, images, or posts on how to fix this problem on an Amana refridgerator/top freezer model #85188?

I checked the model number again and here is everything listed inside the
fridge:

We have had this refridgerator for almost.... 16 years.

I know it is probably the freezer draining that is blocked or a drain cup clogged, but I am not sure how to access these areas.

Hi John,

Remove the back panel in the freezer. The drain is located under the evaporator coil. Most likely it's clogged and/or frozen.

Defrost it, using a hair dryer. Run some hot water through the drain to make sure it's open.

Remove the cover on the back of the fridge and check the other end of the drain hose for a clog.

It's a good time to clean the condenser coil too.

Thanks Gene. I take it yopu mean the back panel INSIDE the freezer box? Or the backside of the whole unit?

Both of them, but inside the freezer first. The drain is there.
