the water going to my door dispenser is not coming out. if i unplug the blue coupler under the refridgerator that connects to the water line going up inside the door to the dispenser the water will come out of that hose. it seems theres a problem with the hose running up inside the door, "like its clogged" but i've blown it out best i could with an air hose. water still will not come out the door dispenser, but it goes into the ice maker just fine. what could be causing this problem.

Thanks, thirsty

Did the water come out of the hose by itself or when you pushed the water release button?

The water is frozen in the door. Major problem with GE side by side refridgerators. The door is sealed. You can leave the door open long enough to unfreeze the water line or use a hair dryer.

Hi,

I have the exact same problem. Unplugged blue coupler, push lever, water flows out right side of tubing. I ran pipe cleaner up through the door side, thought it was clogged. What area should I concentrate on putting the hair dryer to, to thaw the line? Pulling my hair out here!!

Thanks in advance for your help.

Shanda

I had good luck with opening the door and letting the door defrost, aiming the hair dryer at the water outlet (this works but takes time and you have to protect the food in the freezer). The major step I did was to cut on opening on the inside of the freeze door, remove the foam insulation to expose the water line and use the hair dryer there.

I filled a coffee cup with water, heated it to boiling in the microwave then injected it into the tubing at the dispenser with a marinade syringe. It melted the ice in seconds. Be sure to put a towel under the dispenser until it thaws as water will come back out until it is clear.

Great Idea! It worked for me with hot tap water and about four squirts.
Thanks,
Joel
