While out of town my wife tells me the ice and water dispenser start dispensing ice and water at the same time without being touched. She unplugged the fridge and shut the water off.

The repair man came out and said it is either a bad pc board or power control board. He ordered both. I do not know if he installed both new parts at the same time, but when he powered the unit up the fuse on the power control board blew.

He said it was the wires in the door and that the door needed to be replaced because they were foamed in. Well they are not. I removed the harness and checked it out and all seems fine.

I was told to check the diodes at the fill solenoid, I did they checked out but I replaced them anyways because they are cheep. Still blew the fuse.

I unplugged both solenoids and the heaters from the power control board, still blew the fuse.

If I don’t plug the pc board into the power control board the fuse does not blow. This leads me to think it is a bad pc board.

Any advice would be helpful.

To top everything off after paying for a service call a month later the compressor quit running. After doing some research I bought a starter ptc and a run capacitor, got it running for half the price of a service call.
