If they are dirty, clean them.
If the fan blades are dirty the coils are dirty. I think their never clean coils are more marketing than anything else. As many homes have pets and lots of dust which get into everything so I cannot see this working. It will be a pain to clean if they are dirty. When I clean my fridge, I remove the kick plate and the rear cover, roll it over to an open door and blow it out with a compressor. I have been told that a leaf blower also works well. Be sure to clean the fan blades.
