The light comes on when the door is open, the fan runs, but the compressor never kicks in. This model has an electronic defrost unit. I have no idea how to test it. Does any one have a suggestion as to where to start on diagnosing the problem.

Could be the compressor itself, the overload or the start relay (PTC). Also an outside chance that you have a bad wire.
