A few months ago our Samsung RS2630WW started making an awful noise. I cleaned the fan and that seemed to stop the noise, however, now the center wall is burning hot all the time, the fan has appeared to stop working and the ice maker has periods when it barely makes 1 tray of ice per day. HELP! Should we just replace the whole fan assembly or is there a bigger problem.

I am assuming you are referring to the compressor/condenser fan. If it does not cool the condenser coils properly then you will get heating on sections of the units frame.

Replace the fan as you know it is bad. I could not find info on the fan voltage so try spinning the fan blade if it will not spin easily it is toast, measure the coil for resistance if open it is toast.
Would be best to check that it is getting voltage from the control board but I have no info on the motor's required volts.
Does sound like the motor's bearings are shot.

You will not know if you have other problems until the fan is running correctly.
