Recently I had to replace the water inlet valve (#4389177) on my Whirlpool side by side refrigerator. I removed the old unit, prepared the water tubes as instructed, connected the tubes and electrical harness to the new unit, then turned the water back on. Almost immediatly water began to "shoot" from the water dispenser at the front of the refrigerator.
I had noticed some slight changes to the new unit versus the old one, but chalked the changes up to progress. Was there something that the enclosed installation instructions failed to mention? Is there something to the change from old to new design? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

One year and half the I have the same issue. I had this water issue 1.5 years ago and I replace the valve-inlt 4389177 whic is arround $70. And that fixed the issue. Now I have the same issue. How many times would this valve-inlt 4389177 go bad.
Should I go a head and replace it? Do you know where I can buy less expensive one valve-inlt 4389177.
Issue: Water is not working. Ice maker is working fine.:( Thank you
