Question Refridgerator
Model Number: RT18AKXFW01   Brand: Roper   Age: 5 - 10 years

My fridge just went out. Won't do anything. It's as if I unplugged it. Do you have any clues as to why? Could it be a bad plug?

Hi,

Do the lights come on inside the refrigerator?

Can you hear a clicking sound when the compressor tries to start?

If you hear a clicking sound it could have a bad start relay.

Here is a repair guide to help.

Repair Guide: How to replace a whirlpool refrigerator compressor start relay

If you don't hear the compressor running or even a clicking noise then it could be stuck in defrost or have a bad cold control.

You could advance the defrost timer by hand or tap on the cold control knob to see if it starts.
