We have had a whirlpool refrigerator for almost 2 years exactly. We came home the other day and there was a little bit of water on the floor outside of the fridge. We opened up the freezer and water wa we have had a whirlpool refrigerator for almost 2 years exactly. We came home the other day and there was a little bit of water on the floor outside of the fridge. We opened up the freezer and the ice maker drawer was full of water and partly frozen on top. The bottom of the freezer also had water frozen. I believe the water on the floor was the result of the overflow that didn’t fit in the ice maker bucket or bottom of the freezer.
We cleaned everything up But soon noticed that the ice maker was not producing ice. The arm was in the up position, but when I tried to push it down, it went down slightly but not all the way down to start another ice cycle. It just moves down about 20 degrees (talking geometry, not temperature here) and stops.
I have attempted to use the wire between M and N to try and start a cycle, but nothing happened.
Thinking this unit was broken, I ordered another ice maker online. I just got it delivered today, but the crazy thing is that the arm does the same thing on this one. It doesn’t go down all the way, just a little. When we first got the fridge, it used to rotate down almost the full 90 degrees until it was in the ice bucket. That doesn’t happen anymore.
Any thoughts or advice or things I might be doing wrong?
