French Door is supposed to have an auto-closer feature. A couple of years ago, the door started making cracking noises and then the auto-closer stopped working. Recently ordered door closer part (wp12028505ap) to resolve issue. By descriptions on the part, this would fix the issue.

The repair video was useful, but I should've taken the door off before ordering parts. The door closer is the male half and after taking the door off, the old one was fine. On inspection, the female half (which can't be ordered), was also fine. The issue is the female half is keyed into the door itself, so that it won't spin. Where it keys into the door is the plastic frame on the bottom of the door (plastic keying into plastic). The plastic on the door frame had cracked, hence allowing the female half to spin. The plastic on the door frame also is not a reorder part (checked several websites). So, short of super gluing the plastic frame and female together; there doesn't seem to be a solution.

Poor, poor design. In reading thru another of the questions on this part, someone else had issues with the female part. AppliancePros did not answer his question accurately. I'm guessing he gave up.
