Kitchen Aid Built in Fridge/Freezer - No Ice
Model Number: KBRo36FTX00 Brand: Kitchen Aid Age: 5 - 10 years
Here is the story.
We were going on vacation and used the ice in the drawer for the cooler. After dumping the ice, we put the fridge in "Holiday" mode. Were gone for six weeks. There was a power outage during our time away for maybe 4 hours.
Upon our return, we turned off "holiday" mode and noted that we did not get ice for several days. Started troubleshooting. Noted that there was ice in the ice mold, so at some point we got water, made ice but it did not eject.
Replaced the filter since it was due anyway, No Joy
Manually activated the mechanical bale switch on the ice maker. Seems correct, NO JOY
Could not get the motor to run after mold heater had proper continuity, motor had proper continuity, correct line voltage to ice maker but the motor would not run with a jumper. Replaced the ice maker from AP. NO JOY
Turned off power on fridge and let stand for 5 min. NO JOY, Try unplugging?
Cycled Holiday mode on/off. NO JOY
Started to look at optics etc.
Door switch operates normally. No blockage of the IR beam. Cleaned optics. NO JOY
Checked the water inlet valve. (Remember, we had water in the ice mold) but this was OK to. Sufficient pressure to the inlet and water to ice maker when activated with 120VAC
Remove the left side optics board (small one). No obvious issues, resistance seems to be ok of the passive components.
I can't figure out how the right side optics board come out. POOH. but the red LED (status) blinks twice and repeats with door open with or without the left side optics board in place. Activating door switch (simulate closed door) caused the red LED to go out. Should this be a steady light?
Any further suggestions would be helpful
