Our refrigerator was leaking water into the refrigerator part in the back. it has slowed down now.
This sounds like your drain down to the drip tray under the unit is partially plugged.
Check that dust etc, is not plugging the tube under the unit at the drip tray.
Blow it clear from the top. Use a compressor. or a straw (piece of tubing) to blow into it or a turkey baster with some warm water.
Once you get it clear flush it with a 10% bleach solution to kill the crud that grows in the tube.

We have tried to turn the temp. down but it wont go down. What's could be wrong with it.
Check to see if the compressor is running.
Turn the temp to Off if the compressor does not go off then the contacts in the thermostat are welded together and you have to replace it.
Check that nothing is blocking the drain.
Unplug the unit. Remove the evaporator coil cover, check that nothing is blocking the drain in the freezer. Plug the unit in and turn the defrost timer till the unit goes into a defrost mode(fans will shut off). Check that the defrost heater comes on. Do not burn your fingers. Let it defrost. Unplug the unit, wipe the interior dry and check that all the ice is melted on the freezer floor/top of fridge. If not let it thaw before plugging the unit in again.
Give the unit a try. Would be a good idea to check the freezer temperature with a thermometer. Should be 0 to 5 degrees. If it goes lower and will not regulate I would replace the thermostat/temp control.

Is it dying.
No. It may just need a part. It is a nice simple unit so the repair should not be that difficult or expensive.
