Have a Kenmore Side by Side that was bought used. The unit has worked fine for the past five years. The freezer is at 0 degrees, give or take a degree or two. Measured with Mercury Freezer Thermometer. However... Recently, the icemaker has quit making ice. The problem seems to be a small white plastic dispensing trough that runs down from the back of the freezing compartment to the tray cups. Water freezes in the trough as it comes down to fill the cups. Each time water is allowed in, it overflows the previously "frozen" water in the trough and it too freezes. The unit seems to work fine otherwise. So... If the freezer is operating in its freezing range of 0 degrees, why would the icemaker filler trough start freezing up all of a sudden? (As compared to it working fine in previous years.) Your assistance would be appreciated. We are retired on a fixed budget. Thanks!
