Default Drilling hole through rear of upright freezer
Brand: Kenmore   Age: 5 - 10 years

Hello. I have a Kenmore upright freezer. Looks like the modern day version of the fridgeaire, bet it was made by them year ago. I would like to drill a 1/4" hole through the rear upper right for a temperature probe. Exploring this area it doesnt seem to house pipes or anything critical but would like an expert to chime in. I avoided the lower rear due to the evaporator coil.

If you could mark the spot and take a picture I might be able to help you.

Does it have a plastic plug for an ice maker fill tube?

Model no. would be good too.

Below is a link to a picture from the rear of the freezer. The black long tape is the plug for the ice maker, which I dont want to use. I made two holes in the upper right rear. The left most hole is near the channel where the cold air comes from the evaporator via the fan. The right most hole appears to be the freezer skin back. Looking in the hole I dont see pipes and see raw metal. Unfortunately I dont have the model number handy. But comparing my model to the current mode, I dont see much changes.
