Hi,

I have a lab oven I'm looking at repairing. I've replaced the internal wiring. It has a bad bimetal thermostat rated for 455F (attached the image, hopefully you see it). The vendor no longer makes these and I can't find one via ~bay.

Can I just use a thermostat for a regular electric oven?

examples I'm looking at:

GE WB20K10026 Thermostat-Elec - AppliancePartsPros.com

I'm just setting up the lab, so I have limited funds. It'd be great if I can get this oven repaired, so thanks in advance for any advice

EDIT: I just realized this in the freezer and not oven topic. I apologize, I don't know how to delete a thread here or move it to a different topic. I think the concept should be the same however.
