Thermador Freezer column ice maker problem

Our freezer column is 3 yrs old. In January 2017, the ice cubes output began getting smaller and the freezer unit began making a periodic shuddering noise. I feel like the shuddering could be related to the unit trying to bring water in but a restriction could be reducing the flow.
We've had a Sub-zero/Thermador authorized technician spend 3 hours diagnosing the unit. He claimed the incoming water line had a kink in, problem solved and he left. Two days later problem returned. I'm wondering if there could some kind of vacuum being created in system and it slowly restricts the flow of water? I'm wondering if it is the Water Inlet Valve and how do I access the valve to test replace it? I'm stumped along with the authorized technician. Any help or ideas or need more info?
