I have an LG side-by-side refrigerator/freezer (model #LSC27926SB), and the freezer just recently stopped cooling properly. The temperature in the freezer seems to be just cold enough to keep ice freezing or just melting. I don't have a way to determine the exact temperature, but my estimate would be that it is probably keeping the temperatures at about 33°-34°F. The refrigerator seems to be cooling properly (as normal).
I am not sure where to begin toward the troubleshooting process. I have completely cleaned the freezer (it previously had too much food) and have checked the coils on the back of the unit. The coils seem to be clean and the fan motor that blows across the coils is blowing (although I'm not sure if it is blowing fast enough).
Because the refrigerator seems to be cooling properly, my first guess is that perhaps there is a thermistor in the freezer compartment that tells the compressor when to run and when to blow cold air into the freezer. I'm not sure where such a thermistor is located. Also, how would I check such a component with a multimeter?
