My ge monogram just stopped cooling. No warning or slowly warming just went from normal to like someone turned it off. Condenser fan runs constantly. The compressor is running but you can barley and I mean barley feeling it running. No warmth coming from it what so ever. All lights work inside. It seems to have power going and coming from control board. Inverter seems to have power going and coming properly. Ohms are 10 on all three pins on the compressor. I'm a little stumped here. Repairman come over and put an inverter on it and it made no difference.

If your compressor is definitely running and is able to circulate refrigerant there should be heat at the condensor. That's a basic law of rerigeration and the single easiest was to verify compressor operation with refrigerant circulation.

This uses a variable speed 230V compressor, the ohms you report sound normal for that compressor. You'd need to a meter capable of frequency measurements to verify that the inverter actually is driving the compressor at a decent speed. But it sounds like it is if you can hear and feel the compressor. Just for a more definite test see if you can unplug the condensor fan and still feel the compressor running. Or unplug that machine and feel the compressor as you plug it back in.

If it's running and you are not getting heat at the condensor that's not good news. You may have a restriction in the sealed system or an inefficient compressor. A restriction usually means some oil or other substance has gotten up to the capillary tube and blocked it. We'd need sealed system work to test that out.

I'm attaching the service manual I found, it should apply to your unit also.

Anyway the thermistors located in the fridge and freezer can cause it to act as I've described? I was going to check them also. They are the older rounded head ones that from what I've read give more problems than the flat headed ones.

The thermistors are what the PCB uses to read the temps in the the machine. Yes they could cause weird cooling issues, but I wouldn't expect total no cool.

They are testable, the resistance changes with temps and the manual should have a spec and maybe a temp chart. Unless they are way, way, out of spec I would not expect them to be the issue but they are worth checking if you are so inclined. You can check at the PCB instead of having to get to them inside.

The diag test also has a pass/fail thermistor check. Run through the diag test anyway, it's worth a check. The 100% run time step might be handy to try.

Good Luck

All the thermistors tested fine. I unplugged the fan. you can feel the compressor running but very faintly. No warmth from it or the condenser. I ran all of the diagnostic tests all came back fine.everything electrically seems to be fine I can't test the compressor with the 3-phase prongs because I don't have the tool. Only thing I can think is refrigerant is really low and there is a leak some where or compressor is failing mechanically or like you said the system is restricted somewhere. Your thoughts? I appreciate all this information!
