I have a bottom mount fridge that does not defrost the evaporator.
I've checked the defrost system and the only problem I can find is the thermistor in the freezer does not have the same amount of resistance as stated in the tech sheet. 10,000 ohms difference at 32 degrees.

I am managing to force defrost the unit twice a day until I can make repairs. I don't know for sure if the thermistor is the cause but I don't want to even think I have to replace the control board.

The thermistor is part of the wiring harness which can be delivered to the island I live on for $190+ I would like to replace just the thermistor but cannot find one. I have found a 12002355 whirlpool that I can have delivered for about 50 bucks, but nowhere can I find stated the thermistor will work in my unit.

Anyone know where I can find the resistance specs for the thermistor above?
Anyone know where I can find a thermistor that will work in a Maytag mfi2269vem6?
