Angry Compressor running continously
Model Number: mbf1956kew   Brand: Maytag   Age: 1 - 5 years   
Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com
The compressor is running contiously. Had to replace defrost heater and thermostat because it was not defrosting. It's now defrosting corrrectly but the compressor is not stopping even when forcing a defrost cycle. Not sure if this was the cause of the defrost heater failure.

Try to run the diagnostic tests on the tech sheet.
It does sound like your control board is toast as it should shut the compressor off when in defrost.

Thank you. I ran the defrost test before replacing the defrost thermostat and heater and it did not defrost. After replacing both the thermostat and heater the defrosting ran correctly. I ran test 2 (Compressor/Condenser Fan Test) under service mode and it did not stop the compressor - fan neither before or after replacing the thermostat and heater. Do you know if test 2 is suppose to stop and activate the compressor - fan when keying F/O? .
