I have a Sumsung side-by-side (model #RSG257AABP/XAA) and the ice maker stopped working. It will not fill with water, trays are totally empty. I have pushed the reset button for a minimum of 3 seconds as advised by Samsung. The water tube is not plugged with frozen/frosted water. The temp in the freezer is a consistent 2 degrees. The water dispenser works fine and the flow is good. But no water to the ice maker itself.
My first question is regarding a possible malfunction of the water inlet valve. If the water inlet valve was malfunctioning, would it affect BOTH the water dispenser AND the water to the ice maker? As I said, the water dispenser works fine. In other words, does the water inlet valve control both the water dispenser and the ice maker functions?
How would you advise that I try to troubleshoot the problem? Would it be more likely I would need to replace the ice maker? Any help would be appreciated!
