So yesterday while I was in another room, I heard the refrigerator dispense ice. Since I was home alone, it startled me to say the least. When I went into the kitchen, I saw that ice cubes were being dispensed and going all over the floor.
I caught what I could and it stopped after a few seconds. I checked the unit and the inside and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. A few minutes later, the same thing happened. After a third time, knowing that I could not leave for work with ice being dispensed all day long, I used the control panel to lock the ice machine. I also turned off the automatic ice maker. This seemed to work but the icemaker light remained 'on'.
When I got home at night, I tried to unlock the icemaker to show my husband but now the icemaker will not unlock. I hold the button for a few seconds while it beeps and it says 'unlocked' but when I release the button, it goes to locked mode.
I turned off the reefer this morning (via circuit breaker) for 5 minutes for a reboot (hey it works for PCs, right?) but the unit is still in locked mode.
Can anyone offer any suggestions????
