I have been experiencing an issue of severe ice build up at the front of my ice maker tray as well as where the ice is dispensed from the tray as well as the ice chute itself. I recently found a black part that seemed to come from the ice maker itself and I now know my flap on the ice maker chute is loose or broken and not making a good seal which is causing the ice build up near that area. I will take a picture of the item that came from the ice maker as soon as I get home as my question is, is this part coming off the reason I'm having my issues and do I just need to get it put back in place to correct things or did this fall out because something has broken. You have a repair video on how to replace part #2180353, the ice dispenser chute door. At 3 minutes and 2 seconds of that video if you stop it, you can see the part in question as clear as day. It's what looks like a round disc hanging from small metal rod to the right of the door flap. This is the part that has fallen out of my ice maker and I'm assuming causing my issues. Can I re-install this and if so exactly what do I need to do? Thanks for any help offered.
