Sears replaced the compressor on this several years ago when it quit all of a sudden one day. I went out and bought a new fridge that is the same model and its been great. The original started making a loud clang on startup and I called our local service place and was told it was normal. Anyways one day it quits and they came and put in a new compressor. I watched the tech and he also replaced a compressor relay which I believe was the whole problem to start with. When he shook it it was like a baby rattle. He said it was not normal. The fridge worked fine for a couple years in the garage and then we noticed the fridge was not running. A simple twist of the temp dial and it would start and run again for weeks. Then would need a nudge from the thermostat again. I replaced the thermostat and it worked great for a couple more years. Now we notice it seems to be doing it again. Could the thermostat be bad again? How can I correctly monitor the freezer temp? Any tools that will log temps for us that are not expensive or we can rent?
