The ice maker works fine but when ice goes into the ice Shute, the door that dumps the ice into a glass will not open. I can open the freezer door and push the ice door open easily from the inside.
It just seems the weight of the ice is no longer enough to overcome the door spring tension.
Would replacing the ice door spring correct the problem ??? or could something else be causing it to not open ?? Like is there an electrical component that might not be working that allows the door to open when a glass is pressed against the operating switch on the door front as in releasing the spring tension holding the door closed.
