Bought AP3085178 twice and it failed both times. first one shot water out both ice maker and water dispenser after working perfectly for a day. second one worked for a day and then shot water out of the water dispenser only. seems like it has too much pressure, but i don't know. Help...after 3 floods wifey is going to make me buy a new fridge!

It could be that you have crud in your water lines. This then gets into the valve and holds it open.
Shut off the water to the unit.
Disconnect it from the valve.
Then move /shake your water line.
Then slowly open the shut off and run some water into a clear container.
Check to see if crud comes out.
You may have to install an external filter.
I cannot say that the following applies to this valve but low water pressure can also cause leaks as many valves use the water pressure to hold the valve closed.
Check that the voltage across the valve is OK and that it drops to 0 volts when you release the dispenser arm. |

All fixed now, as it was the water pressure valve, worn out after 15 years, and it was too much pressure for the fridge relay.
