I am having the same issue with my Whirlpool ED5PHAXSQ01 model. It started about 1 week ago. The noticed the ice stopped making, saw a piece of ice stuck up in ice tray. Removed ice and thought it was fine, this happens a lot where ice cube gets stuck. I get a call from my wife the next day that when she opened the freezer door as the water was filling up in the ice tray, that the water kept flowing and wouldn't stop for about 10 seconds, overflowing into the freezer and onto the floor. Then it happened a day later. I ordered and replaced the water inlet valve cause most of what I saw said it should be this. Well, yesterday my wife calls me in a panic because out kitchen is flooded and I guess the ice maker decided to keep flowing again and this time ran a lot longer. I need help. I have replaced the ice maker control in the past because the arm stopped rotating. If I replace the ice make unit, should this fix the water from continuing to run to the ice maker? Another post said to check the water pressure. How do I check this, and why all of the sudden would the water pressure be the issue when we have lived her for 10 years? I need some guidance. Thanks!

I have a Whirlpool Gold, Model #GS55HA, side-by-side refrigerator. Water continues to drip from the thing it's supposed to drip from (sorry, I don't know what it's called) into the ice maker. The ice maker works -- when the cubes freeze, it dumps the cubes into the holder. However, because there is a perpetual drip from the "thing" a large icicle forms around the side of the maker and hangs down inside the refrigerator. I had to shut off the water supply to the fridge.

I have read that it's either the water inlet valve or it's the dual outlet valve. How do I know which part to replace? Thank you.
