Hi guys,

I am trying to repair a small Liebherr laboratory freezer with a side door. The temperature control is defective, and I decided to fit a mechanical thermostat (universal type) to control the temperature. It is not clear to me how the temperature sensor wires are entering the freezer chamber, they are entering the top panel of the freezer and I cannot figure out how to remove/disassembly this panel. As an alternative, I wanted to drill a hole in the side wall of the freezer but I afraid to puncture the coil. Is there any safe way to drill a hole in the side wall? Also, is there a way to remove the top panel? There are no visible screws that could hold it. Currently, the tube of the thermostat is entering the chamber through the door opening, under the rubber seal, but I don't think this is a good solution.
Thanks,

Anton.
