My fridge was man. in 1998. The ice machine works property... makes ice, dispenses ice. The water will not dispense when you push the button. You can hear the motor engage but nothin happens. We were going to replace the water filter but can't find where it is located. Does anyone know what the problem could be and where (if any) is the water filter? The manual doesn't seem very clear about that.

Hi.
You mentioned that when the water dispenser lever is pushed "you can hear the motor engage"... What motor? Do you mean the water inlet valve solenoid at the back of the fridge? Also, on the wiring diagram it shows that there are two water inlet valves, but on the parts breakdown is shown only one??? Can you, please open the rear access panel and check how many water inlet valves are there? Check on the left and on the right sides.
Regarding the water filter. If there is no filter inside the fresh food section in the upper right, corner it means that you have to install an external water filter.
