My Kenmore Coldspot model 106.56576400 had a problem that seemed to be the start device and/or capacitor that is attached to it. I heard it repeatedly clicking, then the sound of the compressor for about 5 seconds, then it would click again and the compressor would shut off. I looked in the freezer, and everything in it was defrosting. I looked these symptoms up on here, and ordered the parts to repair the starting device (2319792) and capacitor (W10662129).
I reset the temperatures back to the recommended settings, and I don’t hear a clicking noise anymore. The freezer is freezing food again, but the fridge is not getting down to the recommended settings (37F). It is staying around 50F, and the compressor feels quite hot to the touch whenever I check it. The fan next to the compressor is running.
Could this be a problem related to the parts I replaced, or are these symptoms of another problem?

The compressor is probably running all the time trying to get the unit down to set point temperature so it will be warm.

Check the freezer temperature. It should be in the 0 to 5 degrees F range.

Check that the vents between the sections are clean and unobstructed.

Check that the evaporator/freezer fan is running properly.

Check that the vent (top rear left) (damper) is fully open. It regulates the amount of cold air entering the fresh food side.

Clean and check the door seals. Take a two inch wide strip of paper put it between the seal and the frame and then pull it out. Do that every 6to 8 inches all around the doors.

Remove the cover in the freezer so you can inspect the evaporator coils. Be sure that the compressor has run for about an hour before doing this.
The coils should have a fairly even coating of frost on them.

If they are heavily iced/frosted over you have a defrost [problem.

If there is just frost in one area (usually here the freon enters the coils) you probably have a sealed system problem.
