I recently purchased this upright freezer used and was warned there were issues with it. It worked for a couple of days and then it just stopped. The control panel on the front was displaying weird characters. They were like partial characters (parts of letters/numbers). It looked all messed up. I figured it must be the control panel so I purchased control panel part # 297370602 to replace it. I plugged it in and everything seemed fine. It turned on and started cooling immediately. I went back to check on it an hour later and it was off. I unplugged it and plugged it back in. I pressed the up/down buttons and the new panel was displaying weird characters just like the original panel. I noticed a slip of paper (after the fact) that came with my new control panel. It said I need to program the "EZ Set Control" by holding the up/down/reset buttons while plugging in the unit. I've tried this and nothing changes. It says I should be able to pick between 0 and 2 based on my unit size. Any ideas as to what any of this means? Thanks in advance for any help.
