Recently the digital display on the front of my Frigidaire Stand up freezer started showing incorrect readings. i have the temperature set to 0 degrees F and that is what the freezer cools to. The display is showing between 55-68 degrees. The freezer is not constantly running so I figure the thermistor is operating as per normal, my only issue is that the Alarm is going off because the temperature is saying it is thawed. It also seems to know exactly when I am just about to get to sleep and then and only then does the alarm sound.
I am wondering if there is a separate temperature gauge for the alarm/display or does it use the existing thermistor which seems to be operating the freezer as per my settings. If there is a separate thermostat, where is it and can it be replaced or eliminated?
