Hello.

Regarding my FUF20DTCRWH upright GE freezer:

Food remains frozen OK, no ice buildup on the bottom (I have in the past cleared the drain after removing all items to allow built up ice to defrost. Ice had built up due to a clog in the drain).

I'm not sure if I am hearing the compressor, fan, or both.

Whatever is running, it will run (I have not timed it) and then stop very briefly and then start running again. Imagine a fan running and then there is a voltage sag--the pitch changes. That is the best I can describe what I am hearing. Power to the wall outlet remains constant.

(1) (Standard question?) Is there a service manual I may download?

(2) Should the fan always run at the same time as the compressor?

(3) Is there a certain timing cycle--how long either/or should run and how much time in between cycles?

(4) What tests can I perform? I would judge my electronics skills as intermediate; I do have access to a VOM, clamp-on ammeter, and a portable oscilloscope I can borrow if needed.

Thanks for any insight you may be able to provide.
