I have a 13/14 yrs old Kenmore 12cuft frost free freezer that is only working intermittently. I hear the motor running, so the power is there and it did get down to 20 deg. when i replugged it in. Now its back up to "room temperature", but looks like its heading back down. Is there an easy solution for this? I am only trying to sell this one as it has been replaced with a larger model, but I dont want to sell it unless I know its working properly. Is there a way to tell if it is the defrost thermostat or defrost timer? Are you best off replacing both of them at the same time for a freezer this old? i dont mind spending a few dollars to make sure it works right.
Also, according to the Sears parts website, this model "does not exist". I have double and triple checked the model # and know I have it written correctly (as well as the manuel). Mfg date is 02-00
