Whirlpool Gold Side by Side refrigerator. Model GSC25C6EYY02.
Long story. We had the refrigerator for 1 year 3 months. Approx a month ago, I noticed food freezing in the fresh food section. 3 weeks ago fresh food section stopped cooling. Called for repair, was told that the damper between the fresh food and freezer was faulty. We ordered the part to replace ourselves. Next day, the freezer started frosting over along the back panel and ice in the ice maker bin started melting and dripping from the dispenser. I unplugged an defrosted fridge overnight. One weird thing was that the freezer door would not stay closed when it was defrosted, but once it was plugged in and cooling, it would stay closed.
It started working fine, but I did notice frozen drops of water around the outside of the ice maker. One day, the water catch under the dispenser was full and I noticed water frozen all along the ice maker area on the inside of the door. A few days after this the back panel of the freezer was frosting over again. I unplugged for about 3 hours (freezer door started doing that weird not closing thing again) and it's been "okay" for about a week now, but the outside of the ice bin gets frosty and I'm not sure if that's a problem.
We had a repair person come by again and diagnosed the problem as the sensors being bad. We changed out the damper already, but I think this maybe a defrost thermostat issue?

No one? Could this really be a sensor issue? I don't want to spend money on a needless repair.
