have a kitchenaid KFIS29PBMS French door 28.6 cf refrigerator. works great but the water filter lets little water flow after two weeks. The water going into the filter is coming from an undersink carbon filter which produces clear, delicious water. Bought a bypass cap made by Whirlpool "12664501 Bypass Plug" supposed to work for kitchenaid but it does not have the oval shape that the Whirlpool W10413645A Refrigerator Water Filter has at the top. Looks as though this is not the right bypass. Does such a bypass exist? Thanks for your help.

August 31, 2014. Finally broke down and called kitchenaid customer service. The rep told me almost instantly that for my refrigerator, if I just take out the water filter, the water will bypass that section without a problem. She told me where this stated was in the manual, but I could not find it. At any rate, I was still concerned that when I took out the filter, it would spill inside. No problem. Could not have been an easier or more elegant solution.
