Kenmore. older than 10yrs - circa 2001.
Looks like I found one cause of the fridge compressor not starting.

First I thought it was the start/run relay and overload, but opening up the controls I see that the board is fried at the power relay.

What could have caused the issue?

Fan starts with external power source and compressor resistance checks out, but opening the Electronic Control Board Contact on the 120V side of the relay that goes to fan and compressor is burnt before pin 4. Thinking that the issue was isolated to one event, jumped the affected area to the next contact only to evidence another spark.

I'd hate to replace both the board and the start/run relay/ol and short out the new control board.

not sure if to attempt replacing parts at this point.

pics attached.

Thanks in advance...
