I have a GE Profile Arctica side-by-side refrigerator, with a digital display/control unit at the top. A few months ago, the Custom Cool drawer, which we use for meats, started freezing everything. I believe this was due to a frozen damper, since it started working after I had the power off for a couple hours. I have visually checked the damper and it works. The only problem is that the digital temperature display shows the drawer temperature as anywhere from 36 to 43 degrees, whereas a thermometer in the drawer shows it as about 32-33 degrees, which is about what it is supposed to be when using the "meat" setting. In the process, I have replaced the thermistor behind the drawer, and the main control board, with no improvement. Now I have discovered that the display assembly is replaceable. My question is "do I really have to?" or can I just ignore the temperature readout for the custom cool drawer and assume everything else will work fine? Thanks.
