A week ago I noticed that my refrigerator was not cooling as it used to.. the food in the freezer started to thaw and the refrigerator section was no cold. Called a repairman and he said it was the evaporator fan that was bad. I got a new fan and it was replaced, but nothing changed, still same problem, not cooling. I started to look on-line for a solution and found many people with the same problem. I then checked the old evaporator fan with a 9V battery and it was working, so that was not the issue. I then removed the back panel and found that the compressor was running but the the condenser fan was not. I touched the compressor and it was very hot, you actually could not leave your hand on for more than 5s. I removed the condenser fan and did the same test with a 9V battery worked fine. Could it be the control board ? and can I leave the refrigerator running with the compressor getting so hot without damaging it.
Any support will be very much appreciated.... all I want is to repair my refrigerator.
