I bought a PTC starter for this refrig--it is a bit different than the original.
There are 3 terminals which are numbered.
There were NO instructions what color wire goes to what numbered
terminal. The wiring diagram on the refrig itself is no help.
There is a blue wire, a red wire and a white wire from the overload device.
So what color goes with what number on the ptc starter??
thanks
Bob

thanks for the reply but it does not really help. the refrig use R134a.
the ptc device has terminals labeled "1" ,"2" and "3". I bought the part from these folks --part # 6R8MD3.
It is also shown as correct on the magic Chef parts site.
Next to the "2" terminal is the letter "N".
None of the wires from the refrig are labeled in any way.
Terminals "2" and "3" on the PTC are across from each other and in line with the two
pins which plug into the compressor. The terminal "1" is on the same side as "2" (also "N") but below it.
There are two wiring harnesses. One has a blue and white wire. The
blue goes to the overload. the white goes to the PTC.(but to what # terminal?)
the other harness has two heavier gauge wires--one is red, one is blue.
(but to which terminals?)

If you don't have a meter, you run the risk of burning out your compressor if you wire it wrong.
