Does anyone know of a replacement part number for the defrost heater on this Maytag? The Maytag part has been discontinued for some time!

Measure the length of the heater and note if is glass or solid metal.
Look on line like Amazon to get a universal replacement

Are you sure it is the heating element?
The reason I ask is that this unit has a thermal fuse inline with the element which is very uncommon.

See the attachment for the tech sheet.

Below is your heater element.
Part number: AP4073054

Using the squares which should be 1 inch, it looks like it is about 17 inches long.

Here is another heater I found

Looks like it is just over 16 inches long.
Also if I look up the spec sheet for this unit it also is a 345 watt, 38.3 ohm heater.

So I would try it.

Hopefully it will fit and the leads will be long enough.
You will have to wire it in using wire nuts.
Try to place them so the open end faces down so water cannot get in them.
Some folks like to seal the ends with silicone as an extra protection.
